A roofer answers — not a machine
You describe what you see; we tell you immediately what to move, what to catch, and what to photograph for insurance while we roll.
Crew dispatched
Truck loaded for storm work: membranes, torches, tarps, pumps, and lighting for night response. ETA confirmed by phone.
Find the entry. Stop the water.
We locate the actual entry point — membrane, flashing, scupper, or skylight — and apply emergency waterproofing that holds through the rest of the storm.
Document & plan the permanent fix
Photos and findings from the first hour, cause identified, and a written plan and quote for the permanent repair — no pressure, no night-rate games.
A leak is a race. Here's what waiting actually costs.
Water spreads metres through the assembly. Insulation saturates and stops insulating; drywall stains and softens. Caught here, the fix is small and most damage is reversible.
Water tracks down wall cavities and across floors below. Mold begins inside 24–48 hours in warm cavities. Repairs now involve trades beyond roofing.
Rot begins in decking and framing; water reaches the basement having soaked everything on the way. What began as one repair is now an insurance claim across floors.
A tarp thrown over a roof is not a repair.
Anyone can drop a tarp that flaps loose by morning. Emergency waterproofing that actually holds — through wind, through the next three days of rain, through a freeze — is a technical job:
- Reinforced membranes and tarps, mechanically secured with strapping — not bricks
- Water routed to drains, not dammed into ponds that grow the problem
- Torch-applied temporary membrane where the situation demands real waterproofing
- Ice and snow handled correctly in winter — including ice-dammed scuppers
- Holds reliably until the permanent repair is scheduled — days or weeks
Emergency diagnostics most roofers don't carry.
In an active leak, thermal shows exactly where water is moving through the assembly — so the emergency patch goes on the entry point, not just where it drips.
Once the storm passes, controlled testing confirms the entry — scuppers, flashings, skylights — so the permanent repair is right the first time.
Time-stamped photos and a cause-of-loss report from the first hour — the evidence that decides claims. The first report is everything.
Real crews. Real roofs. Any conditions.
Emergency questions
Do you really come out during a storm, at night, in winter?
Yes — that's what emergency response means. Rain, night, snow, February ice storms: crews respond across Toronto and the GTA in any weather. Temporary waterproofing techniques differ by season, and we carry equipment for all of them, including lighting for night work.
What should I do while I wait for the crew?
Move valuables and electronics away from the drip, catch water in containers, poke a small hole in any bulging ceiling paint to relieve pooling (over a bucket), and photograph everything with timestamps for insurance. Don't go on the roof — wet membranes are dangerously slippery, and we'll be there soon.
How fast can you get here?
We dispatch immediately and confirm ETA by phone. During widespread storms we triage by severity — active interior water first. Either way you'll speak to a roofer, not a call centre, from the first minute.
Is emergency service more expensive?
The emergency visit and temporary waterproofing are quoted plainly before work starts — no storm-chaser surge pricing. The permanent repair is quoted separately, in writing, and you pay for it only after it passes independent inspection, same as everything we do.
Will insurance cover this?
Sudden water intrusion from a storm is commonly covered; long-term neglect isn't. What decides it is documentation — which is why we photograph and report from the first hour, in the cause-of-loss format adjusters accept.
Can you also do the permanent repair?
Yes — the same company that stopped the leak diagnoses it with instruments and performs the permanent, manufacturer-spec repair. One accountable contractor, from the emergency call to the independent inspection you pay after.
